Peter Granser at Unseen

This wednesday, during the opening of Unseen Photo Fair Amsterdam, we've met the German photographer Peter Granser. Intrigued by a story of a little town Gruorn in the Swabian Albs - east of Germany, which was forcibly evacuated between 1937 and 1939 to make room for a military training ground, he made a series of black and white landscape images accompanied by these wonderful stills of old and left behind tank ammunition, projectiles and shells. The pieces are staged as sculptural objects and curated in an almost romantic way. [ Continue reading ]

Aether

Yesterday we've received this amazing set of images from the sophisticated and elegant outdoor label Aether. Aether was started by the two LA film producers Palmer West and Jonah Smith in a need to create something between the obvious performance-driven, and not-so-good-looking brands, and aesthetically pleasing who suffer from a lack of quality. The result is a collection with modern styling and tailored cuts that are paired with the function of high-tech weather, oil and dirt resistant fabrics. Beautiful gear in which you don't look like going for an arctic expedition, but rather travel to beautiful places, with beautiful people. Something we really like! [ Continue reading ]

La Belle Échoppe

Love this newcomer La Belle Échoppe. Simple, beautiful, well made goods with a history and an interesting approach, born from the collaboration between FrenchTrotters and redingote.
Inspired by “Qualités de vie, objets des valeurs quotidienne” from 1991, a book about what’s beautiful and well made, and what was important in people’s life’s at that time, they made a nice curated selection of products, entirely dedicated to “made in France”. My favorites are definitely this grey Desert Boot with recycled rubber sole, made in Lower Normandy by Eimpreinte and the Eau de Cologne à la Française by Institut Très Bien. [ Continue reading ]
