Today we visited Casper Reijnders, the man behind the famous Amsterdam club Jimmy Woo, in his house for our upcoming Journal de Nîmes. His house is like a 'wunderkammer', packed with the most unique and bizarre objects. It reminded me on Agent Gallery Chicago, a shop and gallery packed with strange curiosities, beautiful prints and vintage objects. This is probably one of my favorites: A collage by Christopher Ilth. In the 5th issue of Journal de Nîmes we already showed you a few ways of knotting your tie and folding you pocket square. Since the day we made the illustration I was focused on ties and since than I saw them everywhere. We've made a little list of our todays favorites and my former intern Mia Porter put together a nice article, sourced from wikipedia and all over the place and came up with this. Two days with Nigel Cabourn gave us enough inspiration for the coming years, and it definitely made us enthusiastic enough to help Nigel tell his story for the next decades…

We will do a long article on Nigel in our upcoming Journal de Nîmes, make a new video report on his new collection and we'll try to put together a documentation on his inspiration and his archive of vintage clothing.
Together with our former intern Timo Demollin we shot a huge amount of footage for all these items but I just can't wait for the release of Journal de Nîmes to share a first glimpse of the studio.

After setting a world record (visiting stores in one day) on Thursday we went to three fairs yesterday to get more Winter 2010 inspiration. The day started at the Capsule fair where Rene did not get the chance to recover from his hangover caused by to many Grey Goose at Le Baron with Acne's Charlie Hedin and Kanye West. The reason for that were the brothers from Naked and Famous denim, or actually Brandon the older of the two, that started shooting words and sentences at us about his great new products with 500 miles an hour before we had the chance to look at a single one of them. After asking him politely to slow down just a little bit we fell in love with their unusual interpretation of Japanese denim. And to give you a little preview on what will arrive soon, we hereby announce that Tenue de Nimes will soon carry the heaviest denim ever made in the world. [ Continue reading ]

We met with the Grenson crew the first time last year because Jason Denham arranged a meeting in our store. We really enjoyed the meeting with the two outstanding representatives that were completely crazy about the 140 years old brand.
