A great initiative to connect remarkable individuals to seed inspiring and unexpected introductions.

‘By/Association is for people who want to make their lives, ideas, and networks richer by meeting other remarkable people. It’s not about getting help with your current need or project. It’s about connecting to people that make you better — to inspire more action, better ideas, and new ways of seeing the world.’

I just found this interesting share on <a target="_blank" href="http://issuu.com/: target=" _blank">Issuu. It is one of the most comprehensive studies on luxury ever undertaken. Done by atelier.

—
Luxury is changing dramatically:
The old model of luxury, based on affluence and exclusivity, is now only one part of the story:
- Only 7% of luxury consumers agree ‘luxury is all about being part of an exclusive club’.
Luxury now means many things to many people:
- 68% of luxury consumers agree ‘time is the biggest luxury’.
Luxury has expanded and includes a broad array of elements:
- This new research has discovered 14 key dimensions in the luxury market.
Traditional elements within luxury remain important, but new forms of luxury have also emerged:
- Status, extravagance, connoisseurship, seduction and brands being uber-premium (the ultimate of their kind) are still key dimensions with luxury.
- The research has also found nine new dimensions in the luxury market.

“Getting inspired is like a journey, you take your bike and just start traveling. Thereby you are influenced by your natural surrounding, at crossroads you decide to turn left or right spontaneously. Hence your journey could always lead to a different place, depending on your mood. The inspiration arises from the way you choose.”

A new ChangeThis Manifesto: 14 Ways to Get Breakthrough Ideas. “…It begins with the awareness of where ideas come from in the first place.”

14. Suspend Logic
Perhaps einstein said it best when he declared “not everything that can be counted counts; and not everything that counts can be counted.” He was referring, of course, to the part of the human being that knows intuitively, the part that is tuned in, connected, and innately creative.
kids live in this place. the rest of us just visit, preferring the left-brained world of rationality, logic, linearity, and analysis. on some primal level, we’re all from missouri. we need proof. and while there is nothing inherently wrong with gathering data, the addiction to it subverts our ability to originate breakthrough ideas.
…

If ideas are the currency of our times then this is, undoubtedly, the age of conversation, for without the art of dialogue, the cut and thrust of debate and discussion, then the economy of ideas would implode under its own heavy weight. Instead, the reverse is true. Far from seeing an implosion, we are living in a time of proliferation — ideas build upon ideas, discussion grows from seeds of thought and single headlines give rise to a thousand medusa-like simulations echoing words whispered somewhere on the other side of the planet. All this — in an instant…
