Last week we were invited by Alexander Guy, the long lost grandson of Joseph Guy IV and the man behind Joseph Guy Cognac, for a Guy’s Night In. A night with a selected group of Dutch style bloggers, good food and delicious cognac cocktails. Since it is such a small world, and we all kind of knew each other, it was more a night out with friends, a ‘Guy’s Night In’ that is. Good stories, shared memories and well served! Last week The Village Coffee & Music officially opened its doors in Utrecht. A small coffeebar with a proper taste of music and the potential of becoming my new living (if it’s not already). The coffee is coming from Caffenation, tea’s from Kusmi and music from all over the world (and today from the Netherlands with a life show by Blaudzun a.o.). That sounds like the best combination.

Our favorites: Mendocino Coast Kombu, Somebody’s Mother’s Chocolat, Chocolate Mexicano, Basil Truffle Oil and the Reserve California Estate Osetra Caviar. But actually we’d like to taste almost everything!

My friend Seroj pointed me on this delicious and beautiful designed tea. It makes me want to taste the first spring flush of 2009 Darjeeling from Nepal which is harvest in very small quantities especially for Meriage Frères in the cristal clear air of the Himalayan mountains. This is what I want when asking for a tea next time…
