Last week we were invited by Alexander Guy, the long lost grandson of Joseph Guy IV and the man behind Joseph Guy Cognac, for a Guy’s Night In. A night with a selected group of Dutch style bloggers, good food and delicious cognac cocktails. On Saturday, March 12th, we will hit the road with eight friends to make a journey from Utrecht to Antwerp on the handmade bikes from Elian, to return the next day with fresh roasted coffee beans for the new espresso bar, The Village Coffee & Music in Utrecht. A motley crew of baristas, bloggers, bike builders and musicians supported by Rapha & Nalden, organized by yours truly.

On Friday 20 November our denim inspired boutique Tenue de Nîmes celebrates its 1 year anniversary with the launch of an exhibition called ‘Under Water Indigo’ by Thomas Tukker. All the images of the exhibition have been shot under water and refer to the authentic indigo bath. By combining the pureness of this classic colouring method with the beauty of the female body in work wear, the photographer refers to the paradoxical identity of the denim cloth. By emphasizing this paradox the exposition embraces the most important starting point of the Tenue de Nîmes store: the beauty, but also the diversity of denim. More soon…

Friday october 30 Fontanel and Nieuwe Garde organizing a new issue of 60 Minute Magazine during the ‘Internationaal Beeldfestival Rotterdam‘. Participants will get 60 minutes to create a complete magazine issue – if you’re around, want to share your creativity in journalism, graphic design, photography, illustration or anything else, email them to get on the list. I’ll be there to do a short presentation on our work to inspire, and during the process to coach a bit in the art direction. Hope to see you there…
