Beautiful work on the quite abstract and minimalistic website of Central Office & Co., the studio of Max Erdenberger.

Every single moment we’re browsing the internet we find these beautiful things, heavy weight boots, a lovely pair of vintage denim, a book that caught our eyes, a typography on that particular poster, a combination of colours in a picture, name it… The past months we’ve shared it here, in Bright magazine in the form of a bag review (and the shoe review in the upcoming issue) and in Blend Magazine under the name Treasures.
Now we’re going a bit further by selecting our treasures on a daily base and try to put together a bi-weekly treasures column online. To start with No 1. A selection of beautiful finds. Enjoy after the click. Read the rest of this entry »

Kimberly Lloyd just emailed us to say they released the first Qompendium Print Publication. Qompendium is an evolving and ever-changing platform for philosophy, art, culture and science, represented by a series of print publications: magazines, books and monographs. Furthermore, it is enriched by a real gallery concept, a workshop and a fast-moving online portal.
Volume 1 is a selective journey through the multiverse of intentional and unintentional time capsules featuring an array of exceptional pictorial essays, unabridged interviews and supplementary brand editorials by an impressive list of contributors.

Beautiful pencil illustrations by West Wales School of the Arts graduate Stuart Whitton. We very much like the illustrated alphabet with clothes draped like characters. Enjoy his Behance and portfolio blog.

After Monocle, Fantastic Man, Newwork, and Dazed here’s another magazine with a new issue. The London-based Kilimanjaro now comes in a box and again, we love it! Like they say: ‘The poster-size publication is a vibrant printed space dedicated to visual culture and editorial experimentation.’ Get your hands on this beautiful publication here.

For Bright magazine we did a review on bags, focused on the corporate laptop carriers, but than the nice one, the one we want to be seen with… It became a very nice collection of bags, varying from the absolute classic Filson, to the contemporary Mismo bags. Get your hands on the latest issue of Bright to read the whole review. In short, here’s the list. 1. The off red Qwstion office bag. 2.The Escotype Presse(unfortunately they are not being made anymore…) 3. Our favorite shopper, laptop bag mix by Ally Capellino. 4. The very basic canvas bag by Beckel Canvas (our favorite tent manufacturer) 5. A stylish counterpart of all the vintage; the Arne briefcase by Sandqvist. 6. Off course our dutch friends can’t be missed here; the soft leather Tom Tom by Ellen Truijen. 7. The very classic bold statement by Filson. 8. Hand-made, recut vintage, and all unique Temple bags. 9. We close the feature with this fantastic doctor bag inspired masterwork by Mismo.

Coute Que Coute shared this lovely lookbook from Grounded Ltd – called White Line. A beautiful series of pictures, traveling thru the wilderness with fantastic vintage inspired garments… And be sure you’ll check their previous collections as well since they all have this raw and pure feeling in the collection and in photography. Very inspiring!

My find of today: A rare vintage Montblanc dark chocolate brown Saffiano leather wallet from the late 30s. Specially made for the Montblanc Meisterstuck 146… Lovely!

One of our favorite brands will hit the road again: Clemens en August is starting the fall/winter ‘09 tour and will visit Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, London, Munich, Tokyo and Zurich. The only way to get your hands on this beautiful collection is by visiting one of the temporary shops in these cities. Too bad they wont visit Amsterdam…

T. M. Schmid from Strala updated us with some older work while working on new designs. We specially like this minimalistic wall light called Pompidu. In his own words: ‘Pipes cover the electric cabling of ‘pompidu’, at the same time giving it a firm shape. It is the reduction of everything down to what is strictly necessary. A lighting object in which the supporting structure, electric current and optical appearance interact in a subtle and poetic way.’ Available at his own Strala Gallery, Dufourstrasse 169 in Zurich, Switzerland… Stay tuned for some new work which will be published here in about two months.

Another Issue is hosted by Today’s Issue.

Fred Butler curated the supermarket wall at Supermarket Sarah during the London fashion week. The colorful objects have been featured in Vogue, I-D, Time Out, Super Super and have been used in music videos for Little Boots, The Gossip and La Roux… A lovely collection of colorful items – we specially like the Grace Jones Vinyl’s.

While working on the next issue of Journal de Nîmes (which will be the one year anniversary issue and features a great article about the Japanese fashion tribes, a map of the best places in Tokyo by Luis Mendo and JeanSnow and fantastic work by Thomas Tukker) we finally put Journal de Nîmes No. 2 for sale at Another Shop. For only €3,- shipping you’ll receive the Labour Issue, featuring the second part of A Thin Red Line by Philip Goss, a little history on the tee and lovely pictures of project ware outs by Denim Demon. Enjoy.

At Anthem, we’re all book lovers but in different ways. I personally tend to find myself diving into novels, nonfiction tomes, and, yes, comic books of all shapes and sizes, while others within our editorial family veer more towards the art side of the spectrum, gobbling up coffee table volumes and artist monographs every chance they get. Our mass-market preferences aside, though, we all lovingly support anyone bold enough to try their hand at small press. From ‘zine publishers to pamphlet printers to digital distributors, the independent book-lovers of this day and age inspire us―and pique our curiosity.
For the first installment of Another Anthem, we’ve chosen three such entities that share nothing more in common than a deep-seated passion for the smell of heavy ink mixed with thick paper, the sensation of turning the pages of a yet-to-be-broken-in creaky spine, and, of course, the excitement that one wells up upon discovering a new novelist, illustrator, poet, painter, or what have you. Independent publishers, like us, are indiscriminate as long as the content they carry is top-notch.

Lovely pictures from Ukraine based photographer Valeria Lazareva for Dresscode september 2009. Be sure you’ll check her portfolio – she did some amazing work…

After a successful collaboration with Today’s Issue by Bas de Boer we are very proud to announce a collaboration with Anthem Magazine. Nik Mercer, the associate editor of Anthem Magazine, will do a bi-weekly feature called Another Anthem where in he will highlight creativity from around the world. We are looking forward to it! Stay tuned for #1.
