As Benji Holroyd says: “I translate ethnic slurs for refugees, write award-winning operas and manage time efficiently. I woo women with my sensuous and god like dancing, I can ride a mountain bike up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and cook thirty-minute brownies in twenty minutes, but my real passion is visual communication.”
He just updated me with some new and fresh work. Pictured above, Naantalin Kaivohoune, the Summer Club, Finland. Check his website for more.

Erinnerungslandschaften
July 26

picture-81

Photographer Dana Mueller grew up in Communist East Germany and immigrated to the US in 1993. She came to question how we relate history and the human experience of going through war. The East Germans separated themselves from the guilt and horror of World War II, which contrasted to what her grandmother told her about the persecution of Jews. In her series ‘Erinnerungslandschaften‘ she explores the preservation of the past and our attempt to truly understand what has happened during World War II. The Brighton and Brooklyn series are worth to mention as well.

July 21

uitnodiging

During the Amsterdam International Fashion Week some interesting exhibitions are presented at different hot spots in the city. Today we received an invitation for The Undaunted II. The powerful symbolism of the flag is the backbone of the latest collection of And beyond – ‘The Undaunted’ Photographers Barrie Hullegie and Sabrina Bongiovanni created images, inspired by this collection. For ‘The Undaunted II’, an installation is created in which the garments and these photographs interact. So when you are around visit The Undaunted II at:  Pop-Up Cafe-Gallery ‘Mr. de Wit’ from the 24th of July till the 26th of July.
