Yesterday I received the new issue of 032c…
The past two issues where not my favourites but, if you have the chance, grab this months issue at the kiosk: It’s iconic! It’s beautiful!
Some lovely pictures by Arevalo.
“Conjuring a macabre phantasmagoria that unfurls before your eyes like a sinister but beautiful bloom, Insensate showcases the brutal geometry and raw creative fire of Gareth Pugh’s A/W 2008 collection to truly bewitching effect. Set to a thundering, atmospheric soundtrack specially devised by artist Matthew Stone and utlising Pugh’s twin cinematic inspirations of Predator and The Wizard of Oz as an aesthetic starting-point, this film takes us on a mesmerising, monochrome whirlwind ride, creating a chilling yet compelling world of complex reflection, refraction and glittering incandescence melting in and out of inky black.”
Lovely!! Watch the movie.
thanks to bas again
Last friday, at last, the Tenue de Nîmes shop has been opened! It was crowded, with lots of nice people and a bunch of press. If you’re around, visit the shop at the Elandsgracht 60 in Amsterdam.
Strawberries & Cream from Strawberry Earth on Vimeo. Good initiative! Check Strawberry Earth, an online magazine with lots of good stuff about the environment. Thank you Bas
Saturday november the 15th was the day my world went upside-down… I became father.
Say hallo to Birk!
so, no posts for the coming days ;-)
He was joking on the starting blocks.
He reacted last to the gun.
He ran against the wind.
He didn’t tie his PUMAs.
He jogged over the finish line.
He broke the world record.
Then he danced.
And reminded us that
Being the best should be fun.
Usain Bolt.
3 gold medals. 3 world records.
…goosebumps

Stunning eyewear, jewellery and clothes by Chronicles of Never. ‘It’s loosely based upon the space in space, heavily infuenced by architecture and geometrics, big manga dreams and a love for industrial materials.’

In On Display Maurice Scheltens demonstrates the art of staging and reassembling objects into surreal miniature worlds. His style is playful and highly personalised and his work ranges from art pieces to applied projects and editorial commissions.
Rearranged and reedited for this glossy-book, the photographs in On Display represent an overview of Scheltens’s work of the last ten years. Alongside commissions from Vitra and Nike, Fantastic Man and Wallpaper, it also includes work for galleries and museums. An essay by Emily King reflects on Scheltens’s multi-layered constructions and cross-references the worlds of fashion, design, architecture, painting, photography and graphics.
The Book will be launched at Colette during the Paris Photo 2008. Can’t wait to see it! Check Maurice Scheltens & Veenman Publishers
Thursday night, at the New Talent Night, I met Louise te Poele. A Dutch, very talented photographer and illustrator. Be sure you’ll check her website, and keep an eye on her.
I found this groupshow of (mostly) Lithuanian photographers on flickr and I must say I love it!
Especially check the work of Olle Freyhult.
